It’s easy to buy fast-food when you’re on the go, or when your kids beg you to stop in to see Ronald McDonald, but do you know what you’re really eating or feeding to your family, possibly on a regular basis? On the opposite end of the spectrum from the recent In ‘N Out article, comes an article about what’s really in some of your favorite fast-food items, and it may make you stop and think about the rest of what you eat:

You’d think that a Chicken McNugget would require one thing – chicken.  You’d be very wrong if you think this, though, because just the meat contains seven ingredients, plus an additional twenty or so for the breading around the actual meat.  Comparable though, McNuggets seem like a walk in the park when adding up the thirty ingredients of Wendy’s chicken nuggets, and thirty-five ingredients in Burger King’s Chicken fries.

A Wendy’s popular Frosty contains fourteen ingredients, when I can make a milkshake out of only ice cream and milk (TWO ingredients) at home.  How is this possible?  Take into account the “thickening agents” which include carrageenan – carrageenan can be found in your toothpaste and some ice creams too.
