- 2009 Recap
Evanesence
Evanescence is a goth/rock band from Little Rock, Arkansas. The band began when lead singer and pianist Amy Lee met Ben Moody at a youth camp in the early 90s. He convinced her to form a band with him, and as a duo, they started to release EPs, but didn't perform live. They recorded a full-length album, Origin, and while mastering demos in Memphis, Tennessee, they were discovered by Pete Matthews, who referred them to record companies in NY. The band got more members, including: Will Boyd, bass; John LeCompt, guitarist; Rocky Gray, drums. Their hit album, Fallen, released in March 2003. During a European tour, Ben Moody left the band, and Terry Balsamo joined as a guitarist.
