Twins Jess and Lisa Origliasso were born in Austrailia on December 25, and have a bond so strong that they often finish each other's sentences.  They have been performing together since the age of 5.  In 2001, they landed a recurring role in the Australian show "Cybergirl."  After Jess received her first guitar, they began singing and songwriting.  As the group Teal, they released a single titled Baby, It's Over, and in 2004, one of the songs that they composed appeared on Australian Idol winner Casey Donovan's debut album.  In the same year, some of their other tracks appeared on the albums of other artists.  When they moved to Los Angeles, they changed their name to The Veronicas, and signed with Sire, and in 2006, released their full-length debut album, The Secret Life Of....

The Veronicas dislike being called a female duo and every day they work to separate themselves from the music business. "We like being called a band or group. We don't want to be a pop duo group with two girls singing about relationships, we have everything that a rock band would have, so we are a band".

Their songs have appeared in movies like She's the Man, and Sydney White, and songs from their debut album appeared often in the short-lived TV show, Related.  They appeared on an episode of The Suite Life of Zach and Cody, and tonight they will appear on the new episode of 90210.

In 2006, they released a CD/DVD Exposed...The Secret Life of The Veronicas.  In 2007, they released a clothing line with Target, called The Veronicas.  Also in 2007, they began to work on their second album, along with Toby Gad, Billy Steinberg, and John Feldmann.  Their second album, Hook Me Up, was an instant success.

In 2008, they were nominated for four awards at the ARIA Awards.  Their second album was nominated for Best Pop Release and Highest Selling Album.  Their single, Hook Me Up, and Untouched were each nominated for Highest Selling Single.  The Veronicas performed at the awards, but left empty-handed.

Their Revenge Is Sweeter tour began in February of 2009, and is supported by bands like Metro Station, Short Stack, and P Money.  In March of 2009, they released The Veronicas Complete, which featured all the songs from their first and second albums, as well as three bonus tracks.

Favorite Songs: this band was suggested to me to be included for the whole female artist/band week, and I haven't actually listened to their songs enough to have favorites, but after this summer, I'm going to buy The Veronicas Complete :]
